Instructions

Step 1
Mix shortening, sugar, eggs and molasses.
Step 2
Mix all remaining ingredients except raisins.
Step 3
Add to first mixture, then add the raisins.
Step 4
Wet hands and roll dough into a sausage to make a one to 1 and 1/2 inch diameter bar/roll.
Step 5
Place rolls on an ungreased cookie sheets.
Step 6
Lightly squash rolls with a glass dipped in water.
Step 7
Sprinkle sugar on top.
Step 8
Bake at 375 degrees for 9 to 12 minutes or until cracked on top.
Step 9
(Cracks remain yellow, looking uncooked.
