Instructions

Step 1
Make the cake: preheat your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Whisk to combine your butter, milk, and eggs. Add the vanilla cake mix, and using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat on high for 2 minutes or until batter is light and fluffy. Bake in a buttered 9x13 pan for 40 minutes to get a flat top. Allow to cool completely before assembling.
Step 2
Macérate the strawberries: combine all of the ingredients and let it sit for 30 minutes until the strawberries soften and the juices come out.
Step 3
Make the frosting: Combine the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla. Using a stand mixer or hand mixer with a whisk attachment, beat until mixture is smooth. Gradually add your cold heavy cream and increase the speed. Continue beating the frosting until stiff peaks form. Transfer into a piping bag fitted with a medium sized piping tip.
Step 4
Assemble: Cut the cake in circles based on the size of the cups you are using. Place a piece of round cake at the bottom, then strawberries, and then pipe the frosting. Repeat so that you have two layers of everything in one cup. Finish with a strawberry on top!
