Instructions

Step 1
Add all ingredients in Beans section to instant pot. Set to pressure cook (beans) on high for 40 min. Allow natural pressure release for 20 min then release steam.
Step 2
While beans are cooking, chop tomatoes, onion, garlic, chile, and bacon.
Step 3
When beans are done cooking, remove beans and broth from instant pot, reserving the beans and 2 cups of broth. Set to the side.
Step 4
In pot, add the bacon and set to saute for 20 minutes. Fry bacon to desired consistency, then add all vegetables (tomatoes, onion, garlic, and chile).
Step 5
Allow bacon and vegetables to saute for 3 minutes, then add cumin. Mix well and cook for saute 1 minute.
Step 6
Add brown sugar, chicken bouillon, beer, beans, and bean broth.
Step 7
Set pot to pressure cook on high for 8 minutes. Once time is up, release pressure and serve.
