i stole this recipe from mr owens but i’m adding it here because otherwise i will lose it. they were very yummy when i made them.

preheat oven to 180°C

place baking paper on a baking tray

sift flour and salt into a medium bowl

add sugar, coconut, rolled oats, and vanilla

dissolve bicarbonate soda into the boiling water and add to the mixture

place the butter (chopped up) and the golden syrup into a glass bowl and melt in the microwave.

mix all ingredients thoroughly

make the mixture into 12-15 small balls and place on the baking tray. allow space for them to flatten

bake for 11-12 minutes.

take the biscuits out of the oven when golden. they will be very soft at first but when cooled they should be good.

once they’ve rested for a few minutes lift them onto a cooling rack with a spatula
