Ingredients

2.5 CupsGranulated Sugar
3 Tbsplemon zest
2 stickssalted butter
room temperature
½ cupbutter flavor shortening
5eggs
room temperature
1 cupwhole milk
room temperature
3 CupsCake Flour
½ tspbaking powder
½ tspsalt
For Lemon Glaze
Instructions
Step 1
Pre heat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit
Step 2
Combine sugar, butter shortening, and oil then blend for 7 to 8 minutes or until the mix becomes white.
Step 3
Next add your eggs one at a time on low speed don’t over mix.
Step 4
In a bowl sift your flour, baking powder, and salt. Then add it 1/3 cup at a time to your cake batter alternating with the whole milk
Step 5
Once fully combined add your batter to a poundcake and bake on 325 for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Step 6
After the baking time has passed check with a toothpick and then let the cake cool for at least 10 minutes
Step 7
Release the cake from the pan and let it completely cool.
Step 8
To make the glaze combine powder sugar, lemon juice, butter and whole milk and mix it til it’s a spreadable consistency.
Step 9
Glaze your cake and let it set for 5 minutes and enjoy
