Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven 180c- fan
Step 2
Grease and line tin -I used a 8” (20cm) diameter tin and deep
Step 3
You’ll need two bowls.
Step 4
In one bowl
Step 5
Sift flour and baking powder into this and then
Step 6
Stir in sugar
Step 7
In another bowl
Step 8
Beat eggs, oil, sour cream or yoghurt and vanilla
Step 9
Now stir into the dry ingredients until evenly combined like a batter and smooth.
Step 10
Spoon half of the batter into the tin and scatter over the chopped strawberries then top with the rest of batter
Step 11
Now place the halved strawberries- cut slide down in a pattern around the tin on top of the batter
Step 12
Bake in oven for about 50mins-1 hour or until risen and golden brown - test with a skewer, if clean your done if not -a little bit longer.
Step 13
This is important - Cool in tin for 15 mins before ( it will sink and shrink a little - this will help to get out of the tin )
Step 14
Turn out on a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 15
You can heat it up slightly if you like or eat cold with clotted cream or any other cream.
Step 16
Dust with icing sugar before serving and cut yourself a large slice .
Step 17
enjoy.
