Step 1
Place the cream cheese and powdered sugar in a large bowl and beat on medium low speed until smooth ( took about 1 minute 30 seconds).

Step 2
Turn the mixer down to medium low speed and poor the heavy cream down the side of the bowl in the a slow and steady stream, occasionally scraping the bottom and sides of the bowl with a silicone spatula (took about nine minutes).

Step 3
When all the cream has been added, add the vanilla, turn the mixer up to medium-high and whip until the frosting holds stiff peaks (took about 3 minutes).
