Instructions
Step 1
Stir 2 1/2 cup sugar, water, and Karo over low heat. Stir until dissolved; then boil until a firm ball forms in cold water. ( about 248 on candy thermometer.)
Step 2
Beat egg whites and add 1/4 cup sugar gradually. (Have this ready)
Step 3
Slowly pour boiled sugar mixture over egg whites beating constantly.
Step 4
When the mixture holds firm peaks add a pinch of salt, vanilla and pecan piece.
Step 5
Drop by teaspoon onto wax paper or greased cookie sheet.
