Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 180o and grease a cake pan about 20-22cm

Cream butter and sugar

Add eggs and lemon. One at a time.

Combine dry ingredients. Sift together the flour and baking powder, then gently fold into the wet ingredients.

Add milk. Until you have a smooth pourable batter.
Step 6
Incorporate apples and amaretti. Fold in the small chopped apples, and most of the crushed amaretti, reserving a little to sprinkle on top.
Step 7
Bake. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, scatter the remaining amaretti over the surface, and bake for about 40 to 50 minites until the cake is golden and a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean
Step 8
Cool and serve. Let the cake cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Seeve warm or at room temperature.
