Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 425°
OvenPreheat
Step 2
Each candy cane needs around 1 ping pong ball sized pizza dough piece, rolled out thinly as a vertical oval.
Step 3
Cut one cheese stick into small pieces, while leaving one whole. Use the whole cheese stick as the straight part of the candy cane, and the rest as the curved part. (You can also cut the candy cane in half vertically if you want it to be less calories in each serving)
Step 4
Use your hands to pull the pizza dough around the cheese stick, in candy cane formation, sealing it in
Step 5
Make an egg wash and lightly coat the candy canes. This will let the bacon stick to the dough, and also will turn it nice and golden
Step 6
Take a strip of bacon and cut it in half vertically to make 2 long, thin strips. Wrap it around the candy cane shaped mozzarella stick, diagonally, like a candy cane’s stripes
Step 7
Bake for 15 minutes, or until the bacon is cooked and the dough is golden
Step 8
Serve with marinara sauce or pesto to dip
