½ cwhite sugar
¼ cbrown sugar
2eggs
1 tspvanilla extract
½ tspalmond extract
2 call purpose flour
or sub 1:1 GF flour
½ tspbaking soda
¼ tspsalt
21 ozcherry pie filling
can, one of my faves is @lucky_leaf_fruit_filling, there's more fruit & no corn syrup
1 cpowdered sugar
¼ tspalmond extract
1 Tbspmilk
until smooth consistency is reached
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350F, grease or line a 9x13 square baking pan with parchment paper (can use 8x8 for a thicker bar but they’ll just take longer to bake) & set aside.
Step 2
In a medium bowl, beat together butter, sugar on high until light/fluffy. Add in eggs & extracts then beat again.
Step 3
Add in the remaining dry ingredients & stir until a dough comes together. Remove 1/2 c dough for the topping & set aside. Evenly press remaining dough in the pan, if it’s sticky you can lightly flour your hands to work with it! Top with cherry filling, then evenly drop bits of the reserve 1/4 c dough over top of filling.
Step 4
Bake for 25-30 minutes until the bottom is set & slightly golden on top. Let bars cool completely, then drizzle glaze on top & cut into bars!
