Cherry Cobbler

You can substitute buttermilk for regular milk in just about any baking recipe, cup for cup - but some experts advise making sure the recipe includes at least ½ teaspoon baking soda per cup of buttermilk.

Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 275°. Place butter or margarine in a 9x13 inch baking dish and set on the oven rack to melt.
Step 2
In a medium bowl, mix together flour, sugar, and baking powder. Stir in milk.
Step 3
Remove baking dish from the oven as soon as butter or margarine is melted. Pour flour mixture into the dish, but don't stir it. Then, pour fruit evenly into the pan, and don't stir.
Step 4
Raise oven temperature to 350° Bake cobbler for 50-60 minutes, until golden brown.
