Instructions
Step 1
Roughly chop onion. Place onion, vanilla, apple juice, water, and liquid smoke into instant pot.
Step 2
Salt & pepper the ribs. Place on a rack in the pot.
Step 3
Lock lid and close pressure valve.
Step 4
Cook on high pressure. 22 minutes for baby back ribs or 30 minutes for Saint Louis/spare ribs.
Step 5
When beep sounds, allow a 15 min. natural release.
Step 6
Place ribs on baking sheet and slather with barbecue sauce.
Step 7
Broil or grill for about 4 minutes per side so that sauce carmelizes.
