Instructions
Step 1
Cream butter until pale. Add vanilla and sugar. Mix until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time and beat well. Add flour (sifted with salt and baking powder.) alternating with milk ending with dry. Bake in 3 greased cake pans. Bake at 350
for 30 minutes.
Caramel icing- melt 1 stick butter with 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar. Add 1/2 large can of canned milk. Bring to rolling boil. Remove from heat and add 1 box powdered sugar and beat till cool, and consistency to spread on cake. Add 1 t vanilla and mix well. Ice cake when cake layers are cooled.
