½ cupsour cream
1 cupwhite sugar
2eggs
large
½ tsppure vanilla extract
2 Tbsplime juice
2 Tbsplime zest
2 ¾ cupsall-purpose flour
1 tspbaking soda
¾ tspsalt
1 tspcream of tartar
For the glaze:
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375.
Step 2
In the bowl of a mixer, cream together butter, sour cream and sugar. Beat in eggs. Add vanilla, key lime juice and zest. In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt and cream of tartar. Carefully add dry ingredients to batter. Beat until combined.
Step 3
Scoop out dough into 3 oz portions and, with floured hands, roll into a ball. Place on cookie sheet. Flatten cookies with the bottoms of a glass that has been dipped into sugar.
Step 4
Bake for 10 minutes. Do not over bake. Let cookies rest on baking sheet for 2 minutes before removing to a cooling rack.
For the glaze:
Step 5
Mix all of the ingredients together. Stir until smooth; a fork works fine. The glaze should be thick, but soft enough to "settle" when you spread it. If the glaze is too thick, dribble in another teaspoon of milk, 1/2 teaspoon at a time.
Step 6
Drizzle glaze onto cookies and add a sprinkle of margarita salt.
