For Cake:

2 cupssugar

2 cupsflour

1 stickbutter

½ cupshortening

3 tablespoonscocoa powder

1 cupwater

½ cupbuttermilk

1 teaspoonbaking soda

2eggs
slightly beaten

1 Tbspvanilla extract
For Icing:

For Cake:
Step 1
Sift sugar and flour.
Step 2
Bring butter, shortening, cocoa and water to a boil. Pour over sugar mixture. Mix.
Step 3
Combine buttermilk and soda. Pour into mixture.
Step 4
Add eggs and vanilla.
Step 5
Mix well and pour into greased and floured sheet pan. Bake at 400°F for 20 min.
For Icing:
Step 6
Boil butter, cocoa and milk.
Step 7
Remove from heat and add powdered sugar, vanilla and nuts. Beat and spread over hot cake.
