Instructions
Step 1
In large bowl, with mixer at low speed, beat together butter and 1 cup sugar until creamy.
Step 2
Add molasses and egg, beating until well blended.
Step 3
In medium bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, cloves & ginger.
Step 4
Add to molasses mixture; mix well.
Step 5
Cover and chill.
Step 6
Form dough into 1-inch balls.
Step 7
Roll each in sugar; place on greased cookie sheets about 2 inches apart.
Step 8
Bake at 375 degrees for 6-8 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 9
Let stand 1 minute.
Step 10
Remove cookies to wire rack to cool.
