Cake Instructions

Step 1
Pre heat your oven to 325 degrees.
OvenOvenPreheat
Step 2
First in a bowl sift your dry ingredients which are cake flour, baking powder, and salt then place it to the side.
Step 3
In a mixing bowl combine your unsalted butter, oil, and sugar and mix on medium high until your mixture is white and pale. Your mixture should also be doubled in volume.
Step 4
Next place your mixer on low and add in your eggs one at a time making sure you see no yellow before adding in the next egg. Once all eggs have been fully incorporated turn your mixer off and use a spatula to scrape the sides and bottom of your bowl.
Step 5
Then in a separate bowl combine your milk, sour cream, vanilla extract, almond, and butter extract and whisk until well combined.
Step 6
Place your mixer on low and add in 1/4 of your sifted dry mixture and once you can see no more flour. Add in 1/4 of your wet mixture. You’re going to keep adding them in alternating between the two until you have no more dry and wet ingredients. Your cake batter should be silky and smooth.
Step 7
Add the cake batter to a greased Bundt Pan and bake on 325 for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Do not open your oven or check your cake until an hour has passed. Every oven is different so make sure you check your cake after one hour with a toothpick, and adjust your cooking time as needed. The toothpick will come out clean on both sides when the cake is ready.
Step 8
Once your cake is ready allow it to cool for about 15 minutes and then take your cake out the pan to completely cool.

Pecan Praline Glaze

Step 9
In a heavy bottom pot combine your evaporated milk, sugar, and butter. Place your pot on the stove and set it to medium heat. If your stove has numbers that’s between 5-7. I suggest putting it on 6.
Step 10
Next grab a spatula and continue to stir for about 8 minutes. At the 8 minute mark your mixture should begin to boil and make fast bubbles. Remember to continuously stir the mix.
Step 11
After 10 minutes your mixture will begin to thicken and the bubble pattern will start to slow down. At the point take it off the heat and in your pecans. Mix the pecans until it is well combined.
Step 12
Immediately pour the pecan praline mixture on your cake and allow it to cool for 1 hour before cutting.
