Instructions
Step 1
First I browned the ground beef and drained the grease. In the same pan, I sauteed half a yellow onion, one diced green bell pepper, two small jalapenos and two diced roma tomatoes seasoned with salt and pepper, about a tablespoon of chili powder and a little shake of onion powder, oregano and granulated garlic. I made a small well in the middle of the pan then added 3-4 cloves fresh crushed/finely minced garlic (I used a garlic press) and about a tablespoon or two of tomato paste. I added the beef back and let everyone get happy with each other for about 3 minutes and added half a can of tomato sauce, a tablespoon of worcestershire sauce, a tablespoon of mustard, a splash of kitchen bouquet and a little water to thin as desired and let simmer, covered, for another 5 minutes or so. Served on toasted onion extra large sandwich rolls. It should serve 4 but adjust as needed. My seasoning measurements are guesses. I just taste as I go.
