An elderly lady stopped by the store and was admiring my honey. She said she loved to make honey cookies with it. I had never heard of them before and asked for her recipe... here is what she gave me

Ingredients

½ cupsugar
½ cupshortening
3eggs
beaten
1 cuphoney
warm
1 teaspoonvanilla
1 teaspoonanise extract
1 ½ teaspoonbaking soda
1 teaspooncream of tarter
1 teaspoonsalt
4 cupsflour
For frosting
Instructions
Step 1
Cream the sugar and shortening together.
Step 2
Add eggs, honey, vanilla and anise.
Step 3
Sift dry ingredients then add to remaining mixture
Step 4
Roll into balls or drop them from a spoon. *she noted that she dropped them. She also noted you can use a teaspoon or tablespoon.
Step 5
Place on a well greased cookie sheet. Do not flatten!!!
Step 6
Bake at 350°F for 10 - 12 minutes or until a little brown.
Step 7
When cool put in a bag with some powder sugar and shake - store or eat.
Step 8
Frost if you want
