Instructions

Step 1
Cook macaroni as label directs; drain. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease 2-qt casserole. In small saucepan over medium heat, melt 2 tbsp butter; add breadcrumbs and toss to coat; set aside.
Step 2
Meanwhile, in medium saucepan over medium heat, melt remaining butter; add onion and cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in flour, salt, mustard, and pepper until blended. Slowly stir in milk; cook until smooth and slightly thick, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in cheese until melted.
Step 3
Place drained macaroni in casserole. Pour cheese mixture over macaroni. Sprinkle bread crumb mixture over top.
Step 4
Bake 20 minutes or until bubbly and bread crumbs are golden.
