Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F.
Step 2
Combine the buttermilk, egg, vegetable oil, butter, and vanilla in one bowl and whisk together.

Fold in dry ingredients gently using a spatula.

Fold in chocolate chips and scoop batter evenly into a muffin pan lined with baking paper..

Combine plain flour, caster sugar, butter and cinnamon in a small ramekin. Rub ingredients together with hands, until the mixture resembles wet sand. Sprinkle on top of muffins.
Step 7
Bake muffins for 25-30 minutes, or until the tops of are lightly golden brown.
