Instructions

Step 1
sift together flour and salt
Step 2
cut in butter and shortening with pastry blender until pieces are the size of small peas
Step 3
sprinkle 1 tablespoon of water over flour mixture. gently toss with fork; push to one side of the bowl. sprinkle next tablespoon water over dry part. mix lightly; push to moistened part at side. repeat till all is moistened.
Step 4
gather up with fingers; form into a ball. cover with saran wrap and chill in fridge for 30 mins. (for double crust pie, divide dough in half and form two balls and chill).
Step 5
after 30 mins remove from fridge and let come to room temp about 15 mins
