Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Step 2
Split both acorn squashes lengthwise down the middle. Remove the seeds and bake, face-down, on an oiled tray for 30 minutes.

While the squash is baking...
Step 3
Sauté apples and onion in butter until onion is clear. If using walnuts, sauté them as well.




Step 4
Combine with remaining ingredients and set aside.




After the squash cooks...
Step 5
Stuff the squash with the filling.
Step 6
Bake, covered, 15-20 minutes, or until heated through.
