Instructions
Step 1
• Boil beets in their skins for 20/30 min Drain, allow to cool then peel.
Step 2
• Dice in 1cm pieces
Step 3
• Get out a large jam pan
Step 4
• Dice onions then cook gently in a little vegetable oil until translucent
Step 5
• Peel and chop cooking apples
Step 6
• Cover onions with the vinegar and add all the other ingredients
Step 7
• Boil vigorously until the apple has reduced to a pulp and the chutney takes on the consistency of jam and coats the back of a spoon.
Step 8
• Allow to cool slightly, then pour into sterilized jars.
Step 9
Makes approx 3 medium jars.
