Instructions
Step 1
Combine 3/4 cup sugar, flour, 1/4 cup coca, baking powder, and salt.
Step 2
Stir in milk, butter, and vanilla.
Step 3
Pour batter into a baking pan.
Step 4
Stir together remaining 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar, and remaining 1/4 cup cocoa.
Step 5
Sprinkle mixture evenly over top. DO NOT STIR.
Step 6
Pour the hot water over the surface of the cake.
Step 7
Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until almost set.
Step 8
Let rest 15 minutes.
