Instructions

Step 1
Combine candied fruits, raisins, currants, nuts and V2 cup flour. Sift remaining 112

cups flour, spices and soda together. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and brandy

extract, beating until light. Add lemon juice. Gradually add flour mixture, blending until

smooth. Add fruit and nut mixture. Pour batter into greased 10-inch tube pan lined

with waxed paper. Bake in slow oven 275 F. 2V2 hours or until cake springs back

when touched lightly. Cool 30 minutes: remove pan and cool thoroughly on rack. Wrap

cake in brandy soaked cheesecloth. Store in airtight container a week before serving

For easier slicing, chill cake. Yield: one 10-inch tube cake.
