Instructions

Step 1
Add all ingredients to stock pot and bring to a boil then simmer for 20 minutes on low.
Step 2
Add ice to bucket & pour the mixture after cooled for a few minutes into the bucket. Add additional water to cover turkey.
Step 3
Leave in brine for at least 18-24 hours. Cover brining container and store in the fridge or cool area.
Step 4
Remove turkey and pat dry. Bring to room temperature. Cook according to your preferred method.
Step 5
NOTES: Regular table salt is much saltier than kosher salt, so keep that in mind when you come across a recipe. As a general rule, 1 part of table salt is equal to two parts kosher salt. Using equal parts will give an over-salted brine mixture.
