Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Step 2
coat chicken with flour, salt and pepper to taste
Step 3
Brown the chicken in a skillet with butter and oil
Step 4
Place browned chicken in a 3 qt. casserole dish
Step 5
Combine orange juice, vinegar, brown sugar, basil, and nutmeg. Pour over the chicken.
Step 6
Cover and bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour 15 minutes or until tender; baste often.
Step 7
Uncover, and place the fruit halves (peach or apricot) between the chicken pieces. Baste well. Bake uncovered for another 15 minutes.
Step 8
Serve over rice and with a fruit half
