Instructions

Step 1
In a saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Stir in flour, onion, salt and pepper.
Step 2
Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is bubbly; remove from heat. Stir in broth and milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute.
Step 3
Make filling.
Step 4
(Shortcut: Use 1 1/2 cups frozen peas and carrots and 1 1/2 cups frozen hash browns. Reduce cooking time to 30-35 minutes.)
Step 5
Mix filling and sauce together. Pour into your favorite piecrust and put on top crust. Bake in 425 oven for 40-45 minutes.
