Step 1
In a large bowl, combine the ingredients for the dough (add water if its too dry)

Kneed well until smooth (option: can leave it to rest for 30 mins)
Step 3
Cut the dough into four pieces
Step 4
Roll each piece into a long strip and cut bite size pieces (should make 25 pieces)
Step 5
In a small bowl mix the bi carbonate soda into the hot water
Step 6
Dunk each dough ball into the water and submerge for 20 seconds (they should slightly double in size)
Step 7
Brush with the beaten egg
Step 8
Bake for 10-15 mins (until golden brown) at 180C

In a bowl, combine the sweetener and cinnamon
Step 10
After baked toss the doughnuts in the melted butter
Step 11
Dip each one into the cinnamon sugar mixture and coat generously
