Cheesy Potato Casserole

Salty- only use 1 tsp garlic salt and add other seasoning like onion powder and black pepper. Top with fried onions and omit onions 1/2 pint sour cream is enough

I substituted shredded fresh potatoes with the skin. I rinsed them and gently squeezed out the water. I eliminated the soup and cooked it 90 minutes at around 400. So good! I did the normal recipe too but fresh potatoes were better and won the taste test!

I accidentally doubled the cheese and took a previous comment to heart about cooking the onions. Turned out amazing!!!

Can be made into a main dish with some chicken thrown in.

The onions were a bit too strong. I wouldn't leave them out, but perhaps soften them instead of adding raw so as to mellow the flavor.
