Instructions

Simple Syrup

Step 1
Combine the water and granulated in a large saucepan.
Step 2
Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring.
Step 3
Stir until the sugar dissolves.
Step 4
Remove from heat.

Make Lemonade

Step 5
Add a strainer to the top of a large glass measuring cup or bowl.
Step 6
Juice enough lemons into the strainer to make 2 cups of lemon juice. I used 17 lemons, but my lemons were very small.
Step 7
Add the simple syrup to the lemon juice 1/2 a cup at a time, until you get a flavor that you like. I added about 2 cups to this batch.
Step 8
Store in a pitcher or in mason jars in the refrigerator.
Step 9
Store any leftover simple syrup in the refrigerator or freezer. I had about 1 cup leftover.
