Chez's Throat Elixir ✨️

10 steps
Prep:10min
A soothing drink for sore throats or painful coughs ♡ I can't begin to count the amount of times this recipe has come to my rescue, as a long-term sufferer of hayfever and a weakened immune system, who catches the common cold as frequently as I catch sleep ☆ Using local raw honey helps build immunity to local pollen and will give the best results if hayfever also happens to be your ailment♡ This elixir can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 weeks in a tightly sealed jar and up to 8 weeks in the freezer 💙🧿

Step 5
To serve, mix 2 tbsps of your elixir into a cup of hot water and stir until the honey is melted and combined ♡ Enjoy your drink, and feel better soon 💙🧿

Method 2 - Cube method

Step 6
If you have an appropriately sized silicone ice mold, you can use this method instead! ♡ Add 2 tbsp of honey to per cube into your ice tray, creating 1 serving per cube (8 cubes) ♡ 🍯
Step 7
Add 1 teaspoon of your ginger to each honey cube. Since these servings are individual, you don't have to stir this part ♡

Step 8
Cut your lemon slices to fit the tray and add as much as you like ♡ I personally use around ¼ a slice per cube but this also depends on the size of your lemons 🍋 Squeeze some juice into the cubes, you'll probably have to mix this a little (I use a metal skewer or chopstick for this)

Step 9
Add as many peppermint leaves as you deem necessary, then pop this in the freezer overnight 🌿 To serve, pop a cube out of your silicone tray into your cup of hot water and enjoy as usual ♡

Method 3 - Wing it!

Step 10
Not much explanation needed, just stir in 2 tbsps of honey🍯 into some hot water, chuck in a lemon slice and some lemon juice🍋, add some ginger🧡 and throw in some peppermint leaves🌿! Definitely the quickest method for a single serving, but it always helps to have some prepared in your freezer during flue or allergy season 💙🧿
