Air Fryer Whole Chicken (Rotisserie Style!)

Air frying a whole chicken is just like buying a rotisserie chicken from the store but of course it tastes so much better when made at home as you can control the spices and ingredients. The chicken is a blank canvas and you can spice it how you like and you can use whatever fresh herbs you have. The takeaway is the cooking method which is super simple as the air fryer does all the work for you.

Ingredients

¼ cupolive oil
0.5juice of lemon
1 Tbspgranulated garlic
1 Tbspgranulated onion
½ Tbsppaprika
½ Tbspsmoked paprika
1 Tbspdried oregano
1 Tbspdried basil
1 Tbspdried parsley
1 tspchili powder
1 tspground allspice
1 Tbspfresh rosemary
chopped
1 Tbspfresh oregano
chopped
1 tspground black pepper
1 tspsalt
1whole chicken
Instructions
Step 1
In a bowl, mix all the ground spices and fresh chopped herbs with olive oil and lemon juice until it becomes a paste.
Step 2
After washing and dabbing the whole chicken dry, smear the paste all over the chicken, under the skin, and on the inside.
Step 3
Place the chicken breast side down in the air fryer, and set it to 375 F for 45 minutes. Then flip the chicken over using tongs and air fry for an additional 15-20 minutes depending on the size of the chicken. The internal temperature should be at 180 F.
Step 4
Remove from air fryer and let it rest for 10 minutes. Then slice. Serve with Lemon & Garlic Rice as shown in the video (the recipe for that is in my new cookbook, “Yalla, Let’s Eat” – link in my bio to pre-order!
