Instructions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, almond powder, powdered sugar, and lemon zest until well combined.
Step 3
Add the softened butter and the egg to the dry ingredients. Mix everything together until a smooth dough forms.
Step 4
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm it up.
Step 5
Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch (6mm) thickness.
Step 6
Press the dough into the Totoro-shaped mold to create the biscuits. Gently remove any excess dough around the edges.
Step 7
Place the Totoro-shaped biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges turn slightly golden.
Step 8
Allow the biscuits to cool completely on a wire rack before decorating.

Decoration (optional)

Step 9
Prepare three separate bowls with white, gray, and black icing. You can use ready-made icing or make your own by mixing powdered sugar with a small amount of water until you get the desired consistency for each color.
Step 10
Use the white icing to draw Totoro's belly and eyes.
Step 11
With the gray icing, outline Totoro's body and create details like his whiskers and ears.
Step 12
Finally, use the black icing to add the finishing touches, such as his eyes and nose.
Step 13
Allow the icing to set before serving and enjoying your adorable Totoro-shaped biscuits!
Step 14
Note: Feel free to get creative with the icing colors and design to make your Totoro biscuits truly unique and delightful!
