Instructions
Step 1
In large stock pot heat the olive oil and cook the onion until "just" brown.
Step 2
Add the Garlic and mix in with the onion for about 1-2 minutes until is has softened.
Step 3
Add the tomatoes, and puree and bring to a simmer. (Keep covered to prevent splatter).
Step 4
Stir often cook 1 to 1 1/2 hours until mixture is a sauce consistency.
Step 5
Stir in the basil and sugar cook an additional 5 minutes.
Step 6
Season with salt, pepper and additional sugar to taste.
Step 7
Serve hot over your favorite dish.
