Step 1
Recipe suggested cutting diagonally but it didn't work because it was too delicate, so I just cut it in half way (so there's less to wrap around, but it's thicker, not sure if that's lengthwise or crosswise. Basically, if it's 8" x 1", the resulting pieces were 4" x 1")
Step 2
Variations:
Date (split in half and pitted) + lemon zest (zest a lemon, put a pinch of lemon zest inside the date. Date + lemon zest + fried onion
Apricot + onion
Prune + apricot
The above, with pecan inside it
Step 3
Favorites were date + lemon and apricot, and it was a bit hard to tell how much the onion made a difference.
Step 4
For baking it, it came out a bit dry. Instead of doing 10 + 5 minutes at 400 like the recipe says, do 7 minutes + flip + another 4 minutes.
