Instructions
Step 1
On medium heat, use two Tbsp of the butter to saute onions until translucent then add garlic, cook for additional 30 seconds.
Step 2
Add the tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato juice, and chicken broth. Simmer for 20 minutes until tomatoes and onions are softened.
Step 3
Puree with blender. Return to pot. Mix in brown sugar, basil, salt, baking soda and pepper.
Step 4
Add whipping cream and remaining 6 Tbsp of butter. Warm over low heat while stirring to incorporate the cream and butter.
Step 5
Serve with garnish and Grilled Cheese Sandwhich
