Instructions

Step 1
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with paper liners.

2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

3. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.

6. Divide the batter evenly into three separate bowls. Add orange food coloring to one bowl, yellow food coloring to another, and leave the third bowl plain.

7. Spoon 1 tablespoon of the plain batter into each cupcake liner, followed by 1 tablespoon of the orange batter, and finally 1 tablespoon of the yellow batter.

8. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.

9. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
