Instructions

Step 1
Mix the dough ingredients in a stand mixer for 5 minutes on low speed until it forms a ball. (Or by hand, knead dough for 10 minutes until it is all well mixed and not sticky and forms a ball)
Step 2
Cover the dough with a towel and let it rise for at least one hour.
Step 3
Once dough doubles in size, punch it down and reform it into a ball.
Step 4
On a floured surface, cut the dough into 16 pieces (keep cutting in halves until you get to 16 pieces). You can make smaller batch of 8 pieces and leave half the dough in the refrigerator in a large ziplock bag and use it for pizza in a day or two or to make more naan or pita bread later).
Step 5
Set the dough balls aside on a tray and cover them as you work each piece.
Step 6
Flatten the dough using your hands on the floured surface until it is about 8-10 inches wide in oval shapes.
Step 7
Set a large skillet to medium heat on the stove.
Step 8
Place the dough on the skillet and press it down with your fingers to prevent the dough from forming a large pocket.
Step 9
Once the dough bubbles on top (3-4 minutes) and the bottoms forms a golden color, flip it and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes and flip it again.
Step 10
While the bread is cooking, mix the za'atar and olive oil blend. It should be a runny paste in texture.
Step 11
Place a tablespoon of the za'atar olive oil blend over the naan bread and spread it around to the edges.
Step 12
Place the breads in a plate and cover with a lid or a towel to keep them soft. They must be stacked together while warm and covered immediately to ensure they keep a soft stretchy texture when you're ready to serve.
Step 13
Enjoy with a plate of labne and fresh cucumbers and tomatoes to make delicious middle eastern breakfast wraps!
