Instructions
Step 1
Beat the eggs and gradually add the sugar. Continue beating until well combined.


Step 2
Add the melted butter or oil to the egg and sugar mixture and mix well.

Step 3
Mix the flour with the baking powder. Gradually add this to the egg mixture, stirring continuously.


Step 4
Prepare the apples by peeling and cutting them into cubes. Add these to the mixture and stir.


Step 5
Grease a baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper. Pour the mixture into the pan.

Step 6
Sprinkle the chopped walnuts over the top of the mixture.

Step 7
Bake in a preheated oven at 160-180°C (320-356°F) for about 45 minutes. You can check if it's done by inserting a toothpick into the cake; if it comes out clean, the cake is ready. If convection is used consider decreasing the temperature by 15-20 degrees.


Step 8

Optionally, dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar after it has cooled.
