Egg Wash
Instructions
Step 1
Mix together all dry ingredients using a stand mixer.
Step 2
Heat milk until 100°F then melt butter into milk
Step 3
Pour Wet ingredients into dry mixing thoroughly.
Step 4
At this stage, the dough will look extremely dry but use your hands to kneed it for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Step 5
Transfer dough into an oiled bowl and let sit in an 80°F oven to rise for 1 hour.
Step 6
Mix all egg mixture ingredients and use your hands to mix into dough thoroughly. Now at this point, the dough will seem extremely wet but again trust the process.
Step 7
Let the dough stand for another hour on the counter until risen.
Step 8
Preheat oven to 375°F
Step 9
Take about 1/4 cup of dough and roll it into a snake, then at the ends, begin rolling the dough together opposite ways until you have formed an "S" shape.
Step 10
Mix all egg wash ingredients and brush onto buns, placing a raison at each end.
Step 11
Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until top is golden
Step 12
If you wish these to be a dessert, once out of the oven you can brush sugar syrup onto hot rolls.
Step 13
Serve with a hot cup of glögg and enjoy!
