Instructions

Step 1
"I've been doubling the recipe and baking in a 9x13 for years now. Haven't met a soul that didn't love these! If you need any easy homemade treat, this is the one!"

In a small sauce pan, melt butter and blend in flour.

Let sit for a minute.
Step 4
Add all of cold milk, stirring with a whisk.
Step 5
Season with salt and cayenne.
Step 6
Cook sauce on low until smooth and boiling, stirring occasionally with a whisk.
Step 7
Reduce heat and stir in cheese.
Step 8
Place a half of the sliced potatoes in a lightly greased one quart casserole dish.
Step 9
Pour half of cheese sauce over potatoes.
Step 10
Repeat with second layer of potatoes and cheese sauce.
Step 11
Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
Step 12
Top with some paprika for color.
Step 13
Bake uncovered for about 1 hour at 350°F.
