Instructions
Step 1
Cook bacon until crisp in 3 quart heavy saucepan. Remove bacon, crumble and set aside.
Step 2
Add onion to bacon drippings and saute until tender.
Step 3
Add celery, potatoes, water, and seasonings and simmer until vegetables are tender.
Step 4
Combine flour with milk and stir until smooth. Add to vegetables and cook until chowder thickens slightly, stirring frequently.
Step 5
Add cream, corn, and cheese.
Step 6
Heat until cheese is melted and soup is hot.
