Instructions

Step 1
Add water to a big pot, add potatoes, and season with salt. Bring to a boil and cook for 16 to 18 minutes, or until potatoes are readily penetrated with a fork. After draining, put back in the pot. Mash potatoes with a potato masher until they are smooth.
Step 2
Warm the butter and milk in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until creamy then pour mixture over potatoes. Add the horseradish and sour cream, then season with salt and pepper. Place the potatoes in a serving bowl and drizzle some butter over them. Before serving, add extra pepper to the seasoning and top with the chives and red pepper flakes.
