Instructions
Step 1
Whip 1/2 cup butter until light and fluffy.
Step 2
Add in brown sugar and beat until combined and creamy.
Step 3
Add in molasses, vanilla extract, and an egg. Beat until fluffy, about 2 minutes.
Step 4
In a separate bowl combine flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
Step 5
Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet until fully combined.
Step 6
Divide the dough into two parts, wrapping each in plastic wrap and forming a disc shape.
Step 7
Let chill overnight.
Step 8
After chilled, roll out the dough on a floured surface until it is 1/4 inch thick.
Step 9
Using a cookie cutter, cut out gingerbreads! Keep re rolling until no dough is left.
Step 10
Bake at 350 for 9 minutes.
Step 11
While cookies cool, make icing.
Step 12
Whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla extract, corn syrup, and water.
Step 13
Ice cookies and enjoy!
