Instructions

Cupcakes

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the butter and sugar before adding the egg

Then, stir in the heavy cream
Step 4
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt then, gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients

Pour in the boiling water and stir until the batter is smooth
Step 6
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full
Step 7
Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes
Step 8
Remove the cupcakes from the oven and allow them to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely
Step 9
Once cooled, you can frost the cupcakes

Buttercream

Step 10
Beat the butter with the powdered sugar, cocoa powder and salt before adding the heavy cream
