Broccoli: steakhouse style
Get water boiling in a pot (with a lid) put in room temperature broccoli ****DO NOT JUST THROW THE BROCCOLI IN WHILE IT'S STILL HEATING UP AND THEN WONDER WHY IT SUCKED AT THE END**** Put broccoli in for 3 minutes (with lid on). If you pulled the butter out of the fridge like I'm sure you did, hit it with 20 seconds from the microwave to get it loose. Strain water. Mix all seasonings *EXCPET THE CHEESE* in and toss it around so everything gets covered evenly. Then sprinkle the cheese on. Shouldn't take more than 15 minutes start to finish.
If you toss the cheese in while everything is piping hot because you don't like to listen, then what's going to happen is the cheese is going to turn into one big cheese ball when it clumps together. You have to give the broccoli a chance to cool down for a second and absorb the flavors of everything else before you toss the cheese on. Don't be a hard head.
