Step 1
You can make the cream topping the day before. Heat the cream, sugar and salt on the stove top. Once boiling, simmer for another 5 minutes. Allow to cool.

Mix flour, sugar, salt and yeast into a mixing bowl that has a lid. Add eggs, butter, water and milk. Mix together well with a wooden spoon. Mixture will be wet. Put the lid onto the mixing bowl or cover with a towel and let is rise in a warm place until double in size.

Once the dough has risen, beat it back to its original size again with a wooden spoon. Divide and spread the dough into the two greased 22cm x 22cm baking pans. Cover the pans and allow the dough to rise again.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Once the dough has risen. Cut the cold butter into 1cm squares and push into the dough in grid form. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over the top. Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.

Optional: drizzle a little of the cream topping over the cakes immediately when they come out of the oven and pop back into the oven for another 5 minutes.

Once cooled spread the cream topping over the cake and enjoy!
